About Ringcraft

Ringcraft is Dalton Digital’s own game — a turn-based roguelike where the dungeon around you and the spells within you are two concentric rings, and every turn you may only turn one of them.

The site had to sell a game rather than a service, so it is built the way a game is: near-black, engraved, and led by the artwork. The hero is a WebGL scene turning the game’s own two ring textures, and scrolling turns the outer one while the inner one holds — the exact choice the player makes on every turn of the game.

What we built into it

  • A three.js hero built from the game’s own ring art, not a stock canvas effect
  • Every stat on the page generated from the game’s own data files, so the site cannot quote a number the game no longer uses
  • Pop-out detail on all fifty components and the whole bestiary
  • The game’s music on the page, off by default and remembered once turned on
  • Pre-orders wired to Stripe behind a flag, taking registrations of interest until it is switched on
